Memphis authorities have issued a City Watch alert for 17-year-old Makiyah Sample and her five-month-old infant son, Danterrio Sample.
According to several local news reports, the two were reported missing to Memphis police by Makiyah's mother, who says Makiyah and Danterrio left her East Proctor home Friday (April 29) and have not returned since.
Makiyah's mother told authorities she last spoke with her daughter Sunday night (May 1) and that the teen said she was doing fine and would not be returning home.
Makiyah Sample is described as being approximately 5'4 tall weighing 135 pounds with long black hair and a nose ring. Officials with the Memphis Police Department said she has no known medical conditions or history of mental illness.
