The 53-year-old actor is reportedly in Ecuador filming "Welcome to Earth," an upcoming National Geographic/Disney+ series.
On Thursday (September 1), Smith was reportedly photographed in Alausí, a town in Ecuador's Chimborazo province.
In one photo, Smith sported a yellow, long-sleeve shirt and baseball cap as he rode the La Nariz del Diablo train. He appeared to be blowing a kiss to fans through the window of the train.
Smith getting back to filming comes after the March 27 Oscars broadcast, when he walked on stage and slapped Rock after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's hair.
In the fallout from the slap, the King Richard star was banned from attending Academy events for 10 years.
Smith remained relatively silent about the slap until July 29, when he posted a video on Instagram publicly apologizing to Rock and explaining his actions.
"I've reached out to Chris and the message that came back is that he's not ready to talk, and when he is he will reach out," Smith said in the video. "So I will say to you, Chris, I apologize to you. My behavior was unacceptable, and I'm here whenever you're ready to talk."
