A Tennessee high school teacher has been suspended with pay after he was filmed repeatedly saying the N-word to his students in a classroom, per Newsone.

In two videos posted on Facebook, the teacher, identified as Sanford Graves, can be seen talking to his students at South Doyle High School about whether it's ever acceptable to use the N-word. The teacher said the racial slur multiple times even after his students asked him to stop, per the video.

Knox County Schools said it "doesn't tolerate any instances of racism" and suspended the teacher with pay amid an internal investigation into the incident.

The incident reportedly stemmed from the teacher calling out a student for being loud in class. The teacher used the slur after the student asked why he was being singled out, according to reports.

Malayia Pelcher, a student in the classroom, told Knox News she was hurt by the teacher's words.

“The whole thing made me feel like our teacher doesn’t care about us,” Pelcher said. “Why would you say that to us as a class when we didn’t do anything to you?”
