T-Pain isn't looking for validation when it comes to his decades-long music career.

In an exclusive interview with IHeartRadio's Black Information Network, the Grammy award-winning artist discussed his music reign during the 2000s, with hit albums like Rappa Ternt Sanga and Epiphany, and how he created a space for autotune in Hip-Hop, R&B, and other genres. While T-Pain said he's grateful for the flowers he's received for his impact on the music industry, the singer admitted that he doesn't go looking for them.

"I never look for credit anymore," the Nappy Boy Entertainment CEO told BIN. "I know my truth, you know, me and God had a conversation. I know what's going on. I don't need other people to tell me that."

T-Pain's comments came after the release of his latest album, On Top of the Covers, in which he covered songs across several genres without autotune.

As for his future, the Twitch streamer said he's prioritizing career moves that make him happy, including venturing outside of both gaming and music. "I don't really have a specific way I'm going, I'm just enjoying life," T-Pain revealed to BIN. "You know, I've done all the things that I wanted to do, so now it's just time to enjoy and just live and just let things happen."

"I'm not sure if I'm going to do any more music, I'm not sure if I'm going to keep gaming, I'm not sure of anything," he continued. "I'm just making sure that whatever happens, I'm happy while I'm doing it."

In the meantime, Pain is still dropping bangers. Most recently, he kicked off a collaboration with Lipton Ice Tea that aims to provide parents with a taste of nostalgia this summer. With T-Pain's assistance, Lipton is putting out its twist on the classic ice pop and releasing a remix of the classic 90's hit "Steal My Sunshine."

"Putting my own spin on 'Steal My Sunshine' was a lot of fun because it was THE summer track back in the day," T-Pain said in a statement. "As a busy parent myself, I know how special it is to be instantly transported back to those simpler summer days, and I'm happy to team up with Lipton Iced Tea to help parents do that."
