Jamie Foxx is seemingly on the mend as he was spotted in public for the first time since his hospitalization earlier this year.

In footage obtained by TMZ, Foxx can be seen cheerfully waving to fans while riding on a boat along the Chicago River on Sunday (July 9). The actor appeared to be accompanied by family members on the boat, according to the outlet.

Foxx was also seen active on his feet on Saturday (July 8) night in Chicago, where he's reportedly been in rehab following his hospitalization, per TMZ.

The spotting comes nearly three months after Foxx's family announced the singer had experienced a "medical complication" that sent him to the hospital.

Amid his health scare, Jamie and his daughter, Corinne Foxx, were replaced as hosts on FOX game show, Beat Shazam. Nick Cannon was tapped to temporarily fill in for Jamie, and Kelly Osbourne took over for Corinne.

In May, Corinne shut down social media speculation that her father was still in the hospital and possibly on life support.

"Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild," she said on Instagram. "My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating."

The father-daughter duo is slated to host a new game show series scheduled to air in 2024.
