It's a booked and busy Summer for Vice President Kamala Harris.

The White House recently released Harris' schedule for the upcoming months, and it's packed with events focused on addressing issues impacting the Black community. Over the next few weeks, VP Harris will talk with thousands of constituents, Black faith leaders, and young Black adults in an effort to amplify their voices and bridge the gap in racial and economic disparities.

Harris is scheduled to speak in Chicago at The Rainbow Push Coalition's Annual Convention on July 16th, the Delta Sigma Theta 56th National Conference in Indianapolis on July 20th, and The NAACP National Convention in Boston on July 29th.

"The NAACP is excited to welcome Vice President Harris to our 114th National Convention in Boston," the NAACP's President, Derrick Johnson, said in a statement. "As the Administration continues to tackle the issues that are top-of-mind for our community, it is crucial that our members and attendees have the opportunity to hear from the highest levels of our nation’s leadership. We look forward to seeing Vice President Harris in Boston. This is what thriving together looks like.”

On August 1st, Harris will be in Orlando speaking at The African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME) Women’s Missionary Society Quadrennial Convention. The following week, the Vice President will travel to Chicago on August 11th to speak at Everytown for Gun Safety’s Gun Sense University 2023, where she is expected to push initiatives on gun safety. While in the Midwest, Harris is also expected to discuss women's rights.

Most recently, at the 2023 Essence Festival in New Orleans last month, Harris participated in various conversations about maternal health, women's rights, minority-owned small businesses, climate change, infrastructure, and the recent Supreme Court's decisions to overturn Affirmative Action and deny student loan forgiveness.
