Social media users have been critical of Bratz's move to launch Kylie Jenner dolls as part of the brand's first-ever celebrity collaboration.

On Monday (August 1), Bratz announced the first-of-its-kind collaboration with Jenner, which included the launch of six "Bratzified" versions of the model donning her most memorable fashion looks, per The Guardian.

The company swiftly faced backlash over the new doll, with social media users calling its skin tone "too dark" to depict Jenner.

"Super confused about why her skin is so dark?" one Twitter user wrote.

"Why is she the color of Rihanna?" another chimed in.

"Why do all of them look BLACK?.. it’s the fact that a whole doll company knows Kylie Jenner be cosplaying as a BLACK WOMEN is truly insane," a third user said.

Social media users also expressed disappointment with Bratz's choice to work with Jenner, who is white, for its first celebrity collaboration. Many Bratz fans see the doll as representation for Black and Brown women and called out the brand for not collaborating with a person of color.

"Yall giving a white celebrity a doll first just doesn’t sit right with me," one person tweeted.

In a statement, Jasmin Larian, Bratz’s creative director, said Jenner "truly embodies" what the brand stands for.

“This is a seminal moment in Bratz history to join forces with Kylie Jenner as the brand’s first-ever celebrity collaboration," Larian said. “Kylie truly embodies everything Bratz has stood for since its inception 22 years ago – from being disruptive and rebellious to energetic and expressive.”

Bratz art director Chelsea Green said the company and Jenner's team worked together to make sure the dolls were as “authentic and meticulously designed as possible."

The Mini Bratz x Kylie Collectibles are available now for a limited time at Walmart, Amazon, Target, Macy's, Walgreens, and the Bratz website.
