Former NFL star DeMarcus Ware's rendition of the National Anthem at the 2023 Hall of Fame game received mixed reactions from social media users.

On Thursday (August 3), Ware, who is set to be inducted into the Hall of Fame later this week, sang the National Anthem before the New York Jets faced off against the Cleveland Browns for the HOF game, per Daily Mail.

The nine-time Pro Bowler left no debate when it came to his candidacy for Canton's Hall of Fame, but his National Anthem performance left social media divided.

"Um…… I applaud his effort but it was just not good… At all…" one Twitter user wrote.

"Well this answers the question "is there anything Demarcus Ware cant do?" another user quipped.

Before the performance, the former Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos linebacker admitted that he was "nervous" about singing the National Anthem. Other social media users pointed out that Ware was performing in honor of his former Broncos teammate, Demaryius Thomas, who died in December 2021 of complications from seizures.

"This was actually the reason why I ended up doing it," Ware told NBC. "Because me and Demaryius, we would be on the sideline singing the national anthem. He's not here right now and I knew he was gonna be there with me when I was singing."
