White supremacist signs were posted outside of two Black-owned businesses on Martha's Vineyard over the weekend.

On Sunday (September 3), signs that included the website for the white supremacist group Patriot Front were found outside of two businesses that are owned by Black families in Oak Bluffs, per CBS News.

Cape and Islands District Attorney Robert Galibois said he's notified all 22 chiefs in the district and is working with Massachusetts State Police detectives to investigate the incident.

"If you observe any of these signs on public property or private property without the owner's permission then please notify your local police department," Galibois said in a statement. "We are all working collectively on identifying the individual[s] involved."

Patriot Front emerged in 2017 amid the "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville that left one person dead and dozens injured. "The group promotes fascism and calls for the formation of a white ethnostate," CBS News reports.

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, Patriot Front is known to post flyers, stickers, and banners in an effort to maximize propaganda value.
