Nelly has confirmed that he's rekindled his romance with Ashanti.
According to Entertainment Tonight, the "Hot In Here" rapper made the confirmation during an interview with Love and Hip Hop stars Rasheeda and Kirk Frost.
"Yeah, we cool again," Nelly said when asked if he and Ashanti were "back together." "I think it surprised both of us though. It wasn't anything that I don't think was planned."
The Grammy award-winner said he believes their time apart helped them rekindle the relationship.
"I think we both were pretty much doing what we do, but sometimes being separate you understand one another more," Nelly said. "You be like, 'Yo, let me see exactly what they see.' You know, because we all can be defensive sometimes in our own relationships. We know we wrong but we going to stand on it. But we all a victim to that."
Nelly and Ashanti reportedly split in 2013 after being on-again, off-again for roughly a decade. Fans speculated that the two were back together after they were spotted getting cozy while singing Usher's hit "Nice and Slow."
In April, the pair appeared to be holding hands at the Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia fight in Las Vegas. They also made a red-carpet appearance together at Quality Control CEO Pierre "P" Thomas' birthday celebration.
When asked if his relationship with Ashanti "feels good now," Nelly said it does.
"Yeah," he said. "I mean, because it's no pressure. Before I felt like both of us were doing what we were doing before career-wise, and when you got so many people in the middle of it, it can be tough."
