NBA star Damian Lillard has filed for divorce from his wife, Kay'La, just days after he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.

According to TMZ, Lillard, who previously played for the Portland Trailblazers, filed divorce documents in Oregon earlier this week.

Lillard and Kay'La started dating in college at Weber State. The pair got married in September 2021 and share three children, a five-year-old and two-year-old twin daughters.

In the divorce filing, Lillard cited irreconcilable differences that "caused the irremediable breakdown of their marriage," according to Willamette Week. The pair have also reportedly been living separately for the past 10 months, with Kay'La residing in a $2.7 million home in West Linn while Dame remained at their $7.7 million home in the city.

News of the divorce comes amid internet speculation that the couple had broken up stemming from Kay'La's absence from Lillard's social media posts.

However, Lillard posted a special tribute to Kay'La on Mother's Day earlier this year.

"Takes a special person to wear all the hats that a mother does. I love you and I'm thankful to share what I’m most proud of with you!" Lillard previously wrote on social media.
