A D.C. woman was shot to death inside of her home earlier this month.
46-year-old Desmond Thurston has been arrested on charges of first-degree murder while armed in connection to the October shooting of 52-year-old Patricia Johnson, per WUSA9.
Metropolitan police officers responded to reports of a shooting at a home in Southeast, D.C. Officers found Johnson inside of her home with gunshot wounds. She died at the scene.
Further investigation into the incident revealed that the shooting was domestic-related, authorities said. The relationship between the victim and the shooter remains unclear, WUSA9 reports. Police haven't disclosed what led up to the shooting or what happened moments before the gunman opened fire.
Officials are still continuing to investigate the deadly shooting.
