The two white men accused of brutally beating up a Black woman at a Minnesota bar and leaving her with a serious brain injury are only facing misdemeanor charges.

The St. Louis City Attorney's Office charged 41-year-old Scott Rabold and 56-year-old Mylon Griak with fifth-degree assault two weeks after they allegedly attacked Michelle Folson, according to a news release from the Duluth Police Department.

In the early hours of September 13, police responded to the 500 block of North 60th Avenue W and found Folson suffering from "injuries to her head and face." She was taken to a hospital for treatment, and police obtained surveillance video of what led up to the vicious assault.

Footage shows Folson, 39, speaking with an unidentified woman before things got physical, authorities claim. That's when two men, who knew the other woman, got involved and began beating up the Black woman, leaving her bloodied and unconscious inside Rustic Bar, according to Star Tribune. Officials said the unknown woman won't be charged.

Police also revealed that prosecutors won't be pursuing heftier charges against the two suspects. No reason was provided as officers said it was in the attorney's office's "sole jurisdiction."

Folson, who's been updating people about the situation on Facebook, alleges employees at the establishment didn't call the police after the attack.

"Rustic bar cleaned up my blood that night after I begged them to call the police!" she wrote. "I got up off the floor from a puddle of my own blood and asked the bartender to call the police and she didn't!! "

According to a GoFundMe started by Folson's daughter, the 39-year-old mother was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome and a traumatic brain injury. Folson herself uploaded graphic pictures of her recovery in the hospital, while the fundraiser page shows her bloodied glasses and clothes.

"This in conjunction with the physical damage and emotional damage is very hard for us as a family it’s heart breaking and forever life changing," the GoFundMe page reads.
