Good Burger star Kel Mitchell has spoken out following his hospitalization in Los Angeles.

On Wednesday (November 8), reports surfaced that Mitchell was admitted to a Los Angeles emergency room.

Mitchell confirmed on Instagram later that day that a "genuinely frightening" health issue led to his hospitalization.

"Grateful for the flood of prayers and positive vibes that surrounded me during a genuinely frightening time," the actor wrote on Instagram. "That scare was real, but so was the support. With the grace of God and the skill of the medical team, I’m now on the road to recovery at home, embraced by the love of my family."

"Your kindness has been a lifeline, and I can’t thank you enough. Much love to each of you," Mitchell added to his followers.

Mitchell's hospitalization comes ahead of the release of Good Burger 2 later this month. Good Burger 2 is a sequel to the 1997 film, reuniting Mitchell and Kenan Thompson as Dexter and Ed.

Thompson along with fellow actors Damon Wayans Jr. and Yvette Nicole Brown expressed their support for Mitchell following his hospitalization.

It's unclear what caused the health scare.
