The estranged husband of a missing Black woman has been declared a person of interest in her disappearance.

Shakeira Rucker, a 37-year-old mother of four, was last seen leaving her home in Winter Springs, Florida around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, November 11, according to local police. Rucker's family believes she left with her husband, 51-year-old Cory Hill, that night, and they haven't heard from her since. No word on where they went, either.

Winter Springs Police Captain Doug Seeley told FOX 35 Hill was arrested on Monday (November 13) in connection to an Orange County shooting that happened on Sunday (November 12) -- the same day Rucker was reported missing. He's now facing several attempted murder charges in the case, which is unrelated to the 37-year-old's disappearance.

When detectives tried interviewing Hill about Rucker, he refused to speak with them, according to police. Surveillance camera video also revealed he was with Rucker at a Polk County restaurant the night she vanished.

"That’s what has made him a person of interest in the case now because we see that they were together that night," Seely said. "We’re trying to work as diligently, as quickly as possible, putting all this together. We understand time is of the essence."

The Orange County Sheriff's Office confirmed deputies responded to reports of a shooting on Holly Creek Road last Sunday. A woman told investigators Hill walked up to her and her family with a gun, opened fire, and then took off before the cops arrived. Nobody was hurt in the shooting, and Hills was later arrested in Mount Dora, according to deputies.

Angel Milligan, who identified herself to FOX 35 as the woman targeted in the shooting, claims she and Hill used to date and live together. She ended their relationship after she spoke with Rucker.

"She’s like, ‘Hey, do you know he’s married?’, I’m like, ‘no, all I know is so far he’s telling me he’s out of town at work’," Milligan told reporters. The woman also revealed she filed an injunction against the 51-year-old prior to the shooting and Rucker's disappearance.

Reporters also revealed that Hill was previously convicted of murder decades ago. Two days before Christmas in 1992, Hill fatally shot an 18-year-old man in Suffolk County, Virginia. He was sentenced to 20 years for second-degree murder and another two for using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
