A security guard has been fired after video showed him dragging a student down gym bleachers during a basketball game, Fox 32 reports.

Toshiya Statam, a 15-year-old student at Thornridge High School, said her encounter with the security stemmed from a dispute over her hoodie. Statam said a security guard told her to remove her hoodie, but when she did, she was told to leave the school.

"I said, ‘what do I got to leave for?’" Statam recalled. "That's when they all came up to the top of the bleacher. He was in my face screaming and we were going back and forth."

Video shows Statam being pulled down the bleachers during a basketball game at the high school.

A school spokesperson claimed Statam spit in the security guard's face. Statam was suspended for 10 days following the December 1 incident

"During the incident, a student who was attending a basketball game at Thornridge High School in Dolton allegedly spat in the face of a security guard when he attempted to escort her from the gymnasium. In response to this unacceptable behavior, the security guard reacted inappropriately, deviating from his training. The safety and well-being of students is our utmost priority, and any actions that compromise their welfare will not be tolerated," the school said in a statement. "Prudential Security has taken swift action by dismissing the security guard from his position effective immediately. We deeply regret any distress or harm caused to those affected by this unfortunate event."

The incident sent the 15-year-old girl to the hospital where her mother Tosha said she had several CT scans. The student said the security guard ripped three of her braids from the root, leaving a bald spot.

Her mother is calling for the security guard's arrest.

"I want him arrested," Tosha said. "What made you think it was acceptable to put your hands and feet on my child. Not one time, but several times."
