'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Star Andre Braugher Dead At 61

Andre Braugher has died at age 61.

According to Deadline, the two-time Emmy-award-winning actor passed away on Monday (December 11) after a "brief illness."

Braugher starred in Brooklyn Nine-Nine for eight seasons, from 2013 until 2021. For his role as Captain Raymond Holt in the comedy series, he won two Critics Choice Awards for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and received four Emmy Award nominations.

In 1998, Braugher won an Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series Emmy for his role as Detective Frank Pembleton on Homicide: Life on Street. He won his second Emmy in 2006 for his role in the FX mini-series Thief.

Braugher is survived by his wife, actress Ami Brabson; three children, Michael, Isaiah, and John Wesley; mother, Sally Braugher; and brother, Charles Jennings.
