A North Carolina pastor has been arrested after he allegedly pushed his wife's coworker into a deep fryer at McDonald's, per CBS News.

On Thursday (December 28), 57-year-old Dwayne Waden, pastor of Elevated Life International Ministries, showed up to his wife's job at McDonald's after she complained that employees were disrespecting her.

While at the fast food restaurant, Waden allegedly pushed a cook's head into the deep fryer and punched him in the face. Several employees pulled Waden off the cook, who "suffered a large contusion to the forehead and right eye, along with scratches on his neck," according to a police report.

Officers viewed surveillance video of the incident, and Waden was charged with assault. He was arrested and later released on a $1,000 bond.

The local McDonald's told CBS News that Waden's wife was no longer employed with the organization. " The safety and security of our employees and customers is our top priority," McDonald's said in a statement.
