The White House marked the 144th annual Easter Egg Roll. This year's theme was "EGGucation," and despite the rain delay that pushed the event back an hour, President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden greeted thousands of visitors along with two Easter Bunnies and other characters.

"We just like opening up the place and [letting] people see this is their place," Biden told attendees. "It always makes me feel good to look out there and see average Americans just walking around, looking at what's going on 'cause they own it."

Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff also joined the fun on the South Lawn and Ellipse and took pictures with attendees. Those invited to the Easter Egg Roll included military and veteran families, caregivers, and survivors who participated in the Eater Egg Roll and other educational activities. The White House Easter egg roll tradition dates back to 1878, during President Rutherford B. Hayes' administration.
