A Los Angeles mother, who was known as an astrology influencer online, killed her partner, eight-month-old child, and herself in an apparent murder-suicide on the day of the solar eclipse, according to police per PEOPLE.

On Monday (April 8), Danielle Johnson pushed her two children out of a moving car on a Los Angeles freeway at roughly 4:30 a.m., the LA Police Department said.

Johnson's nine-year-old child was taken to the hospital where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The mother's eight-month-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

About 30 minutes after the incident, Johnson drove her vehicle over 100 mph into a tree in Redondo Beach.

“Johnson did not survive the crash and was the sole occupant of the vehicle,” police said.

According to police, Johnson had fled her home with her children earlier that day after stabbing her partner, Jaelen Chaney, to death.

“On April 8, 2024, around 3:40 a.m., Chaney and Johnson became involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into Johnson becoming violent, stabbing Chaney, who succumbed to his injuries at [the] scene,” police said. “A knife with biological evidence was later recovered from the scene.”

Before the killings, Johnson said the upcoming eclipse was the "epitome of spiritual warfare" in a post on X, formerly Twitter, where she identifies as an astrologer named "Ayoka."

“This eclipse is the epitome of spiritual warfare. Get your protection on and your heart in the right place,” Johnson tweeted last week, days before the eclipse.“The world is very obviously changing right now and if you ever needed to pick a side, the time to do right in your life is now. Stay strong you got this."

Police said they are not currently considering the eclipse as a motive in the murder-suicide “because we just don’t know why she did what she did."
