A Texas woman is still facing possible prison time in connection to a case associated with the January 6 Riots despite President Donald Trump issuing widespread pardons for insurrectionists that stormed the Capitol.
Abigail Shry, 44, is scheduled to be sentenced on May 5 after pleading guilty to making a violent and racist threat against Tanya Chutkan, a judge handling Trump's January 6 criminal case in Washington, per CBS News.
According to court documents, Shry called Chutkan's chambers in August 2023 and called the judge a racial slur before threatening to kill anyone who goes after Trump, all Democrats in Washington, and members of the LGBTQ community.
"You are in our sights, we want to kill you,” Shry allegedly told Chutkan during the call.
Prosecutors said Shry also declared: “If Trump doesn’t get elected in 2024, we are coming to kill you."
Investigators went to Shry's home in Alvin, Texas, where she admitted that she made the phone call. Shry said she wasn't planning to go to Washington, D.C. or Houston to carry out her threats, but if Lee comes to Alvin, investigators should be worried.
Shry's sentencing was postponed multiple times but carries the possibility of time behind bars.
