Rep. Shontel Brown Condemns Racism, Pushes Fibroid Bill & More

At the 54th Annual Legislative Conference, Ohio Congresswoman Shontel Brown addressed multiple pressing issues. She condemned political violence, highlighted her legislation, the U-FIGHT Act, to increase research and treatment options for uterine fibroids, a condition disproportionately impacting Black women, and strongly criticized disinformation about Haitian immigrants in Ohio, warning that it sets the stage for mass deportations that could impact all Black communities.

On political violence, she acknowledged the risks but vowed not to govern from fear, drawing inspiration from leaders like Maxine Waters and Shirley Chisholm.
