Popular TikTok couple and influencers Kristy Scott and Desmond Scott are going their separate ways after 12 years of marriage.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Kristy filed for divorce from her husband, Desmond, on December 30. Court records state that Kristy cited infidelity as the reason for the split. The couple married in 2014 after four years of dating and shares two sons, Vance and Westin.
Desmond addressed the separation in a post on his Instagram Stories on Saturday (January 10),
“I want to begin by apologizing to Kristy, our family, and everyone who has been impacted by the public attention surrounding this situation,” Desmond wrote. “I know this news has been disappointing for many, and I'm truly sorry for the hurt it has caused.”
“Kristy is the mother of my children, and that will always come first. I remain fully committed to being an active, present, and loving parent to our boys, as I have always been," he continued.
Desmond noted that the couple "faced challenges and made sincere efforts to work through them." In his statement, Desmond said he told Kristy he “wanted to separate” at the end of 2025, and he later “made choices that I am not proud of.”
“I took responsibility for those actions… and ultimately we decided to divorce,” Desmond said.
Kristy and Desmond both have large social media followings, where they regularly share their family and couple content. Kristy has 16.9 million followers on TikTok and 9.5 million on Instagram, while Desmond has 1.5 million followers on TikTok and 1.8 million on Instagram.
In 2024, Kristy and Desmond celebrated their 10th anniversary with a glamorous party. At the time, the couple told PEOPLE they had been “best friends” since their teenage years and credited their relationship to “constantly laughing” and “finding humor in everyday life.”
