Tia Mowry is living intentionally and, as she puts it, “smiling a lot more these days.”
The actress, producer, and entrepreneur recently partnered with Bounty to kick off summer cookout season, but during her conversation with iHeartRadio, Mowry spoke just as passionately about embracing life’s messier moments.
“Things don't necessarily always have to be perfect,” she said. “Things can be messy. There's… there's fun in a mess at times.”
For Mowry, that mindset extends far beyond spilled barbecue sauce or chaotic family gatherings. In recent years, the actress has become increasingly candid about self-discovery, motherhood, dating, and prioritizing peace — themes she says are shaping this current chapter of her life.
“I am living intentional,” Mowry shared. “And I am smiling a lot more these days.” The Sister, Sister star said much of that joy comes from learning to stay grounded in the present instead of spiraling too far into the future or dwelling on the past.
“It is okay to put yourself first,” Mowry said. “Focusing on self is not a selfish thing. You become a better mom, a better wife, a better girlfriend, a better sister.”
That mindset has also pushed Mowry to embrace uncertainty instead of fearing it. “Don't be afraid to take that first leap,” she said. “I've found happiness, peace, success, by not being in my comfort zone.”
Mowry continued: “Trust your instincts. Know that you got this… It may be scary. But that doesn't mean that I don't have this, or I can't do this.”
For the entrepreneur, life doesn’t have to be perfectly planned — or perfectly clean — to be meaningful. Sometimes the joy is found in learning to embrace the mess anyway.
And if a mess does happen? Well, Bounty’s already handled that part.
