Former President Obama Makes First In-Person Campaign Appearance In Philly

Former President Barack Obama is making the trip to Philadelphia in his first in-person campaign appearance to support his former vice president, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden

The drive-in rally event is set to take place at the sports complex in South Philly where the former President’s remarks are expected to appeal to voters personally.

Barack Obama’s former senior adviser, Valerie Jarrett, gave insight into the meaning of the former president’s support of the Biden-Harris ticket, stating to CBS 3 Philly

"He knows what motivates Joe, what inspires him, why he’s running for office, to bring our country together, to make sure we build back better than we were before, and I don’t think there’s anybody in a better position to view his point and to speak on behalf of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris than President Obama."

Pennsylvania, a contested swing state, is a crucial state for each campaign. A whopping nine million voter registrations were filed for this election and the state has already seen an influx of mail-in ballots.

Wednesday’s (October 21) event at the sports complex is not open to the public due to COVID-19 restrictions and safety guidelines. Supporters who want to participate are being asked to visit the campaign’s website for a livestream of the event.
