Videos show a group of teens beating up a Connecticut girl after she allegedly used a racial slur towards them.
In footage obtained by WABC, the girl, who appeared to be white, was seen getting jumped at Byram Park in Greenwich, Connecticut on Tuesday (April 9). Bystanders cheered and recorded the incident, which allegedly took place after the girl said the n-word.
A group of teens appeared to assault the girl a second time after she allegedly repeated the slur.
“Hit me again n***a,” the girl allegedly said.
The girl, who has been identified as a junior student at Greenwich High School, was taken to a local hospital where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
On Thursday (April 11), police said all suspects had been identified and referred to Stamford Court. Two of the suspects were arrested on Thursday, and three others are expected to be taken into custody, according to police.
Police said they are continuing to investigate the incident.
“We’re looking at motives, why people would do these things; so that’s yet to be determined,” Greenwich Police Department’s Capt. John Slusarz said in a statement.
In a statement, Greenwich First Selectman Fred Camillo condemned the incident.
“As always, violence of any sort will not be tolerated in the Town of Greenwich,” Camillo said.
