Issa Rae, Common And Many Other Celebrities React To Capitol Hill Chaos

Today is a day unlike any other in the nation's modern history. Thousands of anarchists who seemingly support President Donald Trump have stormed Capitol Hill. Chaos began to ensue just after noon as federal lawmakers debated the results of the electoral college. Running towards the Capitol, thousands clashed with police as they headed towards the Senate and House floors. Some broke windows and others pushed through doors as U.S. Representatives and Senators were moved to safer locations. Vice President Mike Pence and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris were also relocated to unidentified safe spots. Meanwhile, the President looked on from the Oval Office.

Around the country, Americans looked on and reacted minute-by-minute through Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Weighing in with everyone else, Issa Rae, Common, Jemle Hill and several others expressed their disgust.

"Looking at this footage in D.C, and thinking of all those police unions who enthusiastically threw their support behind Donald Trump," Hill tweeted.

"This desperate 'man' and his silly sheep. Embarrassing," Rae added.

Reactions will continue to pour in as things continue to escalate in the nation's capital. Footage of windows being broken has circulated around several news networks. Inside different buildings, photos of criminals running up to the front of the House floor have emerged. Making matters worse, one person has been shot, but details regarding the incident are still sparse.

In an effort to curb the chaos, Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser has issued a 6 p.m. citywide curfew. Unauthorized personnel will not be permitted to travel by car, foot or bike through the city until the following morning. Adding on, Trump has deployed National Guard troops to Capitol Hill.

This is a developing story.
