Michelle Obama Launches 'Waffles + Mochi' Cooking Show

Former First Lady Michelle Obama woke up this morning and decided to share some good news with us all. The bestselling author has announced that she will debut a cooking show called Waffles + Mochi on Netflix next month.

"I’m beyond thrilled to share that on March 16, I’ll be launching a new show on Netflix called Waffles + Mochi! I'm excited for families and children everywhere to join us on our adventures as we discover, cook, and eat delicious food from all over the world," the former First Lady tweeted.

"I’m also excited to work with [Partnership for a Healthier America] to help kids build healthy habits and help families in need cook with fresh ingredients together at home. I hope you'll join us by watching on March 16."

Obama's new show will feature two puppets helping her put together healthy meals. Along the way, the trio will travel to different kitchens, try out different ingredients and connect with special guests. Bringing everything together, the show will exist as an extension of her "Let's Move" campaign that encourages young people to live a healthier lifestyle.

"With the help of friendly new faces like the supermarket owner, Mrs. Obama, and a magical flying shopping cart as their guide, Waffles and Mochi blast off on global ingredient missions, traveling to kitchens, restaurants, farms and homes all over the world, cooking up recipes with everyday ingredients alongside renowned chefs, home cooks, kids and celebrities," Netflix said in a statement.

Waffles + Mochi will debut on Netflix on March 16. A trailer will be released within the next few weeks.
