This is the latest Netflix project from the Obamas. Signing a groundbreaking deal in 2018, the couple agreed to produce a number of projects including a short film highlighting the life of Frederick Douglass. and a miniseries chronicling Michelle Obama's Becoming book tour.

"We created Higher Ground to harness the power of storytelling," former President Barack Obama told The Hollywood Reporter.

"That’s why we couldn’t be more excited about these projects. Touching on issues of race and class, democracy and civil rights, and much more, we believe each of these productions won’t just entertain, but will educate, connect and inspire us all."

The two didn't stop there. Barack Obama has appeared on shows such as The Shop with LeBron James and Desus & Mero on Showtime. Meanwhile, Michelle Obama has started her own podcast. During her first season, she interviewed award-winning journalist Michelle Norris, Conan O'Brien, Valerie Jarrett and of course, Barack Obama.
