Bronner Bros Begins Issuing Refunds After Canceling 75th Annual Hair Show

Bronner Bros., the iconic Black beauty company, has canceled their 75th Annual hair show due to the fourth wave of new COVID-19 cases impacting the nation.

The International Beauty Show was scheduled to take place at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans later this month, but the company noted that the rise in the Delta variant caused organizers to postpone the show indefinitely.

“Due to the fast-moving Delta Variant and the ongoing public health emergency, we must announce that the 2021 New Orleans Bronner Bros Beauty Show, scheduled to take place August 28-30 is being postponed,” a statement on the company’s website reads

“Our hearts go out to those who are suffering from this disease, to the frontline workers struggling to keep people alive in full hospitals and to those who have lost loved ones,” the statement continues.

“While we have taken all precautions to host a safe and amazing show, we cannot control this virus,” it added, noting the recent citywide proof of vaccination policy put in place earlier this month. That policy, Bronner Bros said, “still does not relieve us of our responsibility to play a role in keeping you as safe as possible.”

The company started the refund process Wednesday (August 18) and said they’ll be waiting until the pandemic “has ended or at least subsided to a better, new normal,” before scheduling another hair show event.

Last year, the company’s scheduled to take place in Atlanta was canceled as the nation battled the pandemic without a vaccine.
