A Black mother and her two-year-old child are believed to be among the victims of the Gilgo Beach serial killer.

According to the Atlanta Black Star, an unidentified woman known as “Peaches” was founded decapitated in Lakeview, New York in June 1997. More of her remains along with the remains of her two-year-old daughter were discovered in 2011 near Ocean Parkway and Jones Beach State Park.

The two deaths are believed to be connected to suspected serial killer Rex Heauermann, a 59-year-old New York architect who was arrested on July 13. Heauermann is currently facing charges in connection to the murders of Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello, whose bodies were found in December 2010 along Ocean Parkway, just as Peaches and her daughter.

Heauermann also remains a suspect in the death of Maureen Brainard-Barnes following her 2007 disappearance. An investigation has been launched into Heurmann's possible connection to the disappearance of 18-year-old Aaliyah Bell, who went missing from Rock Hill, South Carolina, in November 2018.

Ten bodies in total were found near Gilgo Beach.
