A South Carolina woman has been deemed a "Karen" after she followed a Black newspaper delivery driver for no apparent reason and held her at gunpoint.

According to Fox Carolina, Mary Holmes, who is white, was taken into custody by the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office last week following her encounter with the newspaper delivery driver.

The victim told authorities that she was delivering newspapers around the Town of Rock Springs neighborhood when she noticed Holmes staring at her. She continued to deliver newspapers until Holmes drove up next to her. The newspaper delivery driver said she asked Holmes if she could help her to which the woman responded "No you can't."

Holmes allegedly continued to follow the driver into the next neighborhood. As the victim was exiting the neighborhood, Holmes confronted her with a gun but the magazine fell out.

The woman claimed that she was terrified after seeing a vehicle in her neighborhood that "didn't belong there." She told police that she held the newspaper delivery driver at gunpoint in "fear for her life."

Holmes is facing charges of pointing and presenting a firearm.
