An Arkansas woman claimed that she was fired on the first day of her new job after she arrived an hour late due to a blizzard in a video that's gone viral.

Damita JoMama shared her story on TikTok, saying that she was fired from a "popular ambulance company" after she "risked her life" to drive through inches of snow in Arkansas.

The TikToker explained that she quit her previous job because the new one offered better benefits, pay, and hours.

"As much as I loved that previous job, I got a child to think about and I need more money. I need better benefits."

On the first day of her new job, Damita said Arkansas was hit by a blizzard. Damita said she drove her mom's SUV to attempt to get through the icy conditions.

"I have never had to drive a snow before because every job I've had previous to this I've always been off when it snow," she said.

Damita noted that she was "terrified" because of her lack of experience with driving in the snow. She eventually made it to work, but "long story short, I get there almost an hour late but I'm thinking okay, I'm going to be apologetic," Damita said.

Damita's boss allegedly "didn't care" and condemned her for arriving late on her first day.

"She's basically saying "we can get here, why couldn't you get here?"' Damita recalled. "And I'm like, that's fine and dandy, but, baby, I'm not used to driving in snow. I got here as quick as I could. I risked my doggone life getting here for this job."

Damita was allegedly told that she missed the necessary training. She was dismissed and "walked out" of the building.

"Long story short, f**k that job and hopefully I can get my old job back," the TikToker said.

Social media users called out Damita for not leaving earlier and making excuses for being late on her first day.

"It took longer than expected cause I've never driven in the snow before," Damita responded to critics in a follow-up video. "Why not give people a little leniency?"

Amid the criticism, Damita said she's not worried because she has another job.
