Former OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney has pleaded guilty to manslaughter with a deadly weapon in the 2022 stabbing death of her boyfriend Christian Obumseli.
Clenney originally faced a second-degree murder charge in Obumseli’s death. She accepted a plea agreement Monday (August 10), avoiding a murder trial, according to CBS News Miami.
Under the agreement, Clenney will serve six years in prison followed by five years of probation. She will receive credit for time already served.
After her release, she will be required to undergo mental health and substance abuse evaluations and complete any recommended treatment. She will also not be allowed to financially benefit from the case, according to CBS News Miami.
Obumseli was fatally stabbed on April 3, 2022, at the Miami condominium he shared with Clenney.
She was arrested months later in Hawaii and charged with second-degree murder.
Clenney has maintained that she acted in self-defense during an altercation with Obumseli. Her attorneys have argued that she was the victim of domestic violence, NBC Miami reported.
The Obumseli family has disputed Clenney’s account. His family’s attorney previously argued that the evidence did not support her self-defense claims, according to NBC Miami.
Clenney had been scheduled to face trial on the murder charge before prosecutors and her defense team reached the plea agreement, which was accepted by the court Monday, according to NBC Miami and TMZ.
